Hope’s Point
A Ghost visits a grieving lover as she struggles to establish her new identity with an old friend.
Official selection and 3x Nominee at the Toronto International Women Film Festival, Hope’s Point features a stellar cast of rising acting talent.
The story follows Hope, a recently “out” Transgender Woman who is mourning the loss of her lover at the same cabin where the tragedy happened. When Michael, her best friend since childhood, sees a photo of Hope wearing clothes belonging to the deceased, he assumes it is a coping mechanism, and so he sets out to intervene.
Experimental in its approach, the film was shot in 360-degrees on an Insta360 Pro camera, where all camera framing and movement was introduced in post-production.
Shooting in this format gives the film a unique visual style while grounding audiences in the perspective of Hope’s ghostly visitor. It also allows for the film to be released in two formats; as a traditional film and in full Virtual Reality. The VR cut is currently in Post-Production with a goal to complete by Fall 2022.
