One tiny trim tab creates enough pressure on a ship’s rudder to steer the entire vessel.
Trim Tab Productions is based in Toronto, Ontario. We create honest and empathetic screen-based experiences about Trans and Queer realities. We use innovative technologies like 360° filmmaking and Virtual Reality to capture and showcase the stories that aren’t often found in our current media landscape.
There are many technical and creative breakthroughs yet to come before Virtual Reality becomes a viable entertainment option for most Canadian households. However, we believe it is only a matter of time before VR technology permanently disrupts our Arts and Entertainment industries.
It is our mission to be creative innovators at the forefront of storytelling in Virtual Reality, and to create opportunities for LGBTQ2S+ voices in this emerging medium, so we can steer the Canadian entertainment industry into a more representative and equitable future.
No medium can transport viewers into other worlds, other lives and other perspectives as efficiently as Virtual Reality. It is the storyteller's greatest tool for promoting empathy, connection and positive change.
Trim Tab also strives to produce works that honour the rich history of storytellers on the land that we call home. Tkaronto is the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples; all of whom have been telling stories long before settlers arrived on this land.
